Today’s Sermon-Poem is an invitation.
Descend with me.
Let us see what’s down there.
And when the fall is complete, when the mind has softened and the body has opened, I am still there. Present. Attentive. Ready to bring them back gently, fully, into warmth, grounding, and care.
Such Things
grope
with me in the
darkness and
pretend nothing is there
to stub your toe;
it
reaches forever and
is filled with
soft
things like breathing and
moisture;
you should know
that to recognize
something
with just hands
takes some time,
so linger
while your fingers
come to some understanding;
only
don’t let them
stray so far
that they encounter the
barred window or peeling
wallpaper; skin should
never know
such things
